T.H.E. (To Help Everyone) Clinic was founded in 1974 by a small group of medical volunteers who wanted to bring affordable, quality health care to a community of uninsured women and their families in the underserved South Los Angeles community. Today, we serve more than 12,500 individuals annually in South and Southwest Los Angeles, communities in which about one-third of the people are uninsured.

We tell patients, “Regaining your health is only the beginning. The next step is learning how to stay well.”

The Patient Portal on our website gives patients more flexible access to their care provider and medical services they need. The portal lets patients email doctors, nurses, and health counselors with questions. They can ask for a copy of their medical record, request prescription refills, and make appointments.

T.H.E. Clinic has received the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission, a nonprofit accreditation body that ranks healthcare organizations.

T.H.E. Clinic has six locations and a mobile clinic to extend our services to more people. And we’re expanding to be able to serve more people. Grants will allow us to do renovations that will add eight new exam rooms and other treatment areas. This will expand our capacity to be able to treat more than 18,000 people annually.

A New Access Point (NAP) grant will enable us to open another treatment facility that can serve 15,000 new patients in South LA and expand the reach of the T.H.E. Mobile Clinic.

In 2012, we served more than 11,605 people during 31,502 visits. From 2008 to 2012, our patient population grew by 53%. Here’s more about the people we serve:

Federal Poverty Level: About 72 percent of our patients earn less than 100% of the federal poverty line; 43% were uninsured.
