Eisner Health is a quality-focused, federally qualified nonprofit community health center dedicated to improving the physical, social, and emotional well-being of people in the communities we serve, regardless of income.
History
Founded in 1920, Eisner Health is a quality-focused, non-profit community health center dedicated to improving the physical, social and emotional well-being of people in the communities we serve, regardless of income. It has been a Federally Qualified Health Center since late 2004 and is one of the largest providers of accessible and low-cost healthcare and related services in Los Angeles County. Programs include: adult and pediatric care; OB/GYN services; delivery care at California Hospital Medical Center and Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital; dental, periodontal, and portable dental care; the Eisner Family Medicine Center at California Hospital; school-based family planning health centers; optometry services; and behavioral health care. Supplemental services consist of an on-site pharmacy and lab at our Olive Street clinic, outreach and enrollment services and health education.
Patients We Serve
Seventy-three percent of our patients live at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. While the majority of our patients (71%) are covered by Medi-Cal, almost a quarter of our patients (23%) are uninsured. Children, from birth to teen, make up half of the patients that we serve on an annual basis. We serve a diverse, multi-cultural population where 25% prefer to be served in a language other than English.
