The mission of South Bay Family Health Care is to provide access to quality health care for individuals and families.
Founded in 1969, SBFHC is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). From the early days as the South Bay Free Clinic, operating out of a small store-front in Manhattan Beach, to becoming a member of the largest community clinic safety-net in South Los Angeles. SBFHC is forging a footprint in access to health care for underserved low-income communities through the operation of five clinics that are strategically located in two Los Angeles County Service Planning Areas (SPA) 6 and 8. The Gardena Clinic; Redondo Beach Clinic, a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH); Carole Keen/Carson Wellness Center, a School-based Health Center; and two sites in Inglewood, Claudia Hampton Clinic and OB-GYN Clinic, an official CenteringPregnancy™ and CenteringParenting™ site, this achievement makes SBFHC the only CenteringParenting™ site and one of three CenteringPregnancy™ sites in Los Angeles County.
