To improve the quality of life for the diverse community of inner city Los Angeles and Huntington Park by providing affordable and comprehensive health care and education in a welcoming multicultural environment.
To lead the way in health care in South Los Angeles and Southeast Los Angeles County as the premier provider and employer of choice, offering comprehensive, high-quality, affordable, efficient, and culturally responsive services.
From its origins in 1981, as a small storefront clinic launched by Dr. Ann Turner and Catherine Bax, a Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, the South Central Family Health Center (SCFHC) has expanded into an important part of the safety net in South Los Angeles. As a founding member of the Southside Coalition, the SCFHC houses its main center in a 13,300 square-foot facility. Located at 4425 S. Central Avenue in South Los Angeles. The SCFHC facility contains twenty-five examination rooms and two imaging rooms for radiology. SCFHC gained certification as an FQHC in 2002.
SCFHC also operates the Huntington Park Family Health Center in Huntington Park, Montebello Family Health Center in Montebello, Cudahy Family Health Center in Cudahy, and two school-based wellness centers at The Accelerated School and Jefferson High School.
SCFHC added glucose remote monitoring program pairing diabetic patients with a remote monitoring device that continuously monitor and control their A1c levels.
