The Coalition has a historical interest – a footprint in this community; we know how to work with the types of problems our patients present. The Coalition allows better coordination regionally, a lot of collective history in trying to solve problems specific to this region. – Yasser Aman, DrPH, former CEO UMMA
Resourceful.
Perhaps that’s the trait that best describes how our eight community health centers accomplish the “can’t be done” every day. Each day brings new challenges for securing the health care services that our patients need.
We have to be resourceful.
And it’s that need to reach beyond our own doors to coordinate care for our patients that brought the eight community health centers of the Southside Coalition together. Simply, joining forces allows us to do more for the people we serve. In 2012, together, we served more than 158,000 patients during more than 562,000 visits.
